Samantha Smith, Ph.D.
Sam partners thoughtfully with organizations to identify and select talent, develop leadership capabilities, and build an inclusive organizational culture. In particular, she is a seasoned training facilitator who places emphasis on leadership development and education around topics relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Sam has experience supporting business of all sizes across various industries including utilities, financial services, hospitality, and healthcare. Before working with STS, she served on the talent acquisition team at United Airlines where she supported large-scale assessment design, validation, and delivery. Sam has also served as an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University.
Outside of her more traditional consulting roles, Sam has served as a Facilitator for Second City Works, where she conducted customized improv training for corporate audiences as a means of boosting teamwork, creative problem-solving, and empathy. She is an experienced comedic improviser who performed regularly at the former iO Chicago theater.
Sam received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Butler University and completed her master’s degree and doctorate in Industrial-Organizational psychology at DePaul University.
