Rodney Vallejo, Ph.D.

Rodney brings a unique blend of consulting, leadership development, and product development expertise that supports his passion for equipping leaders and their organizations with capabilities they need to win in the marketplace. For Rodney, everything begins with building strong connections with his clients so that he can better understand their needs given their strategy and objectives and help ensure their success.

His professional experience has been focused in the areas of executive assessment, executive coaching, assessment centers, and training program creation across the financial services, energy, industrial, healthcare, higher education, and nonprofit industries.

Before joining STS, Rodney developed proprietary assessment tools for a multi-national consulting firm to use in their executive search and consulting practices. Prior to that, he led the financial services and leadership development practices at the Center for Research and Service for seven years, a not-for-profit consulting firm affiliated with Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). In that role, he partnered with financial service organizations to translate insights from employee engagement surveys to actionable plans to optimize organizational results. He also worked with executive leadership teams to enhance leader capabilities and effectiveness.

He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from IIT and a Master’s in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Barry University in Miami. During his time in Miami, he worked for the Miami Dolphins organization, an experience that shaped where he does his best work; with those who relentlessly aim for excellence. Rodney is also an active member of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (SIOP).

Rodney and his wife Mariel were born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. They lived in Chicago before moving back home to raise their three boys, Roman, Rocco, and Royce. They enjoy traveling and charting new adventures as a family.
